I've been following
The High Line for several years, since I first took a pre-construction tour of it during
Open House New York. The first completed section has been open to the public for a couple months now, but I hadn't seen it in daylight yet, only
at night. I decided to brave the crowds today and go check it out in the late afternoon, when the sun's angle casts long shadows and an orange glow on everything - a time of day I call "The Magic Hour."
