It's always a treat when Amanda visits NYC from DC, but it's especially nice when we can treat ourselves to a little girls' lunch out. After not having showered or left my apartment all day yesterday (bemoaning my unceremonious return to NYC), Amanda's lunch invitation was a good reason to get out of the house today.
Even better was the VIP treatment we got at Bergdorf Goodman's BG Restaurant, which has previously hosted such luminaries as Hilary Clinton and Sporty Spice for lunch. BG's Executive Chef Darryl Burnette, an old friend of Amanda's, treated us like royalty and shared many of his delicious creations with us, including
...pea & mint soup w/truffle oil and crème fraîche, today's seasonally-inspired special...
...seared sea scallop w/spinach, artichoke and goat cheese ravioli, truffle sauce...
...seared ahi tuna w/lemon couscous, summer vegatables, pickled cherry tomato and fennel salad...
...strawberry shortcake w/champagne sauvignon sauce...
and mini chocolate s'mores parfait.
It was, indeed, parfait.
And a vast improvement on my depressing day.
